BirthLink is in Transition
I have been deeply involved and committed to doing birth advocacy work for 25 years! I’m turning 70 in November and over the last year I have had more time to reflect on what matters to me. While birth will always be a part of my life I am going to move from a network concept to being a private consultant. I’m still going to offer shiatsu sessions in the Madison, WI area. It will all be on a smaller scale so I can slow down and enjoy life more.
The first thing that will change is that in a few months this newsletter will no longer be going out. I have been writing about birth and health for many years. The over medicalization of birth and children’s health is still a problem. I have always been advocating for midwives and alternative practitioners and that will never stop.
Over time I will be taking BirthLink off social media. I enjoy personal contact with professionals and parents so please feel free to contact me directly. I will still be offering birth options consultations for those who want to make informed choices to experience healthy, happy birth – with midwives.
BirthLink has had amazing presence and support over the years. We have helped thousands of families and most of all babies! Mothers and babies matter. Fathers matter too. All life matters! I appreciate all the midwifes and practitioners who have been members over the years. I hsve also had many young helpers building web sites, donating photos, time and talents. This is how we were able to offer such great support to families.
Thank you all for being a caring wonderful community of people.
