Postpartum Doulas & Other Care

The postpartum doula has a special calling to this work. She understands the needs of the postpartum mother. Her job is to mother the mother so she can mother the baby. She will also help with house, sibling care and baby as well as run errands as she will often have her own vehicle. They usually work half days for about two weeks. They are independent so they set their own schedules, have more flexibility, and often have advanced degrees in other fields. They understand the emotional needs of the new parents. Breast feeding support is also offered. You may also need night care, multiples care, skilled nursing care for your infants. There are some agencies that provide this kind of support. This type of care differs in that they take care of the baby primarily.
