We are in a time of great change. Humans have a hard time with uncertainty. We have a habit of creating all kinds of stories about things if there are no answers. We like to know — or convince ourselves we do. The fact is there is no certainty in life. I’m sure you can all think of examples. I suggest that you evaluate your current lifestyle choices and consider what you can let go of to make life more simple. One thing I am noticing is a lot of negative talk about the “economy”. We all love to have someone or something to blame. Take a media fast and see if you notice that you feel more positive. Fear and worry are negative emotions and while they can be useful in situations of actual threat are very depleting to your health and well-being. We choose what we think. What we think affects how we feel.
Remember the serenity prayer? There are many things we don’t have control over. We can control how we think and feel. Focus on the many blessings you do have. I am so grateful I can see, hear, walk, skip, hop, jump, taste, touch, talk, eat, smell, read, think, love. you get the point. Each day I write in my gratitude journal as part of my self care routine. I love to start my day on a positive note. I just can’t feel negative when I am in a state of grace.
We are in a time of great change. It is up to us whether we are going to embrace this as an opportunity for growth and healing or fear and stress. Everything is constantly changing even if we don’t notice it. We are on this planet to love and serve each other and our selves in the most beneficial ways. Asian medicine says all things in moderation. We are all seeking balance. What does balance mean to you?
