Ultrasound Hazards

April 10, 2026 By Jo Anne Lindberg

I have been noticing that over time the use of ultrasounds has become more frequent and more powerful. For the majority of time there was no such thing. It is like putting your baby in a microwave oven. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean it is safe.

If you are considering the new elective ultrasound business as an option please think again. I’ve heard that there may be some value if there is a medical necessity. Currently, they are used to make money or to avoid law suits. This has nothing to do with the health and well being of the baby.

There have been many studies that indicate there can be damage to the infant or cause miscarriage. Even if there is a medical indication the question is, will this change treatment in any way. If there is to be no change why do it. Always evaluate the risk vs the possible benefits of any form of treatment.

The best thing a pregnant mother can do for her child is eat an organic whole foods fresh diet of mostly vegetables. Exercise to keep stamina, strength and flexibility in balance but not to the extreme. Get plenty of rest and relaxation along with good quality sleep.

If a practitioner is suggesting an ultrasound ask them why and what possible problems this may cause.
